Debbie Keiser's Conference Sessions:

Instructional Strategies that Kick it up a Notch!

This session will be a follow up to Debbie's keynote. Participate in a motivational, hands-on session that demonstrates numerous brain-compatible instructional strategies that ensure students master curricular objectives and meet national standards. These activities, based on learning style theories, help teachers deliver memorable, differentiated, classroom instruction for gifted students and high ability learners.

Participants will explore strategies which engage gifted learners including games, graphic organizers, manipulatives, models, skits, and project-based instruction.

The Research Puzzle: Helping Students Research Successfully

Studies show research is a preferred activity of gifted learners. Teaching gifted students to research effectively is the challenge. Providing students the tools to research effectively can only have a positive impact on their later endeavors.

Assessments with Pizzazz

Embrace imagination in process and product in a session dedicated to creativity in assessment. Frameworks are provided for developing creativity in student process records and products. All you have to provide is the idea.

Learning to Be a Durable Person

Gifted children need to be taught to be durable, survive the day-to-day struggles of life and still be satisfied, productive, and happy. This session explores ways gifted students can explore their own giftedness, expand social skills, cultivate leadership skills, and develop strategies for combating stress, anger and perfectionism.
